Publishing within “Horizon 2020”

In order to publish within the EU framework “Horizon 2020” the following conditions are mandatory:

  1. The publications must be in Open Access. Two Open Access options are accepted:
    • Gold Open Access – The publisher makes all articles and related content available for free immediately on the journal’s website. Usually the payment of an OA fee is requested.
    • Green Open Access – This is the self-archiving of the PrePrint version (Submitted version) of the article by authors who post the work to a website controlled by the author, the research institution that funded or hosted the work, or to an independent central open repository (for example ArXiv or Inspire Hep). If the Green Open Access option is selected, the version uploaded must be a PostPrint version (Accepted manuscript).

Please note that if you have uploaded PrePrint articles on ArXiv or Inspire Hep, you should replace them with the PostPrint version and declare it. Be advised that a period of embargo may be required. Please check the platform Sherpa Romeo for the Open Access policy of the publishers at the following link: https://v2.sherpa.ac.uk/romeo/
  2. On each publication the EU emblem and the standard reference must be visible as follows:

    • The logo can be downloaded at the following link: logo
    • Standard reference must include the name and number of the project, according to the following template: “This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme under Grant Agreement No XXX”.
  3. On each publication the following disclaimer must be present: “The content of this outcome reflects only the author’s view and the Commission is not responsible for any use that may be made of the information it contains“.
